TGVP Announces Follow-On Investment in Fabric8Labs

TGVP,  the U.S. corporate venture capital arm of Toppan, is proud to announce its investment in Fabric8Labs, a San Diego-based pioneer in Electrochemical Additive Manufacturing (ECAM). TGVP joined this $50 million funding round led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and Intel Capital.

Fabric8Labs is redefining additive manufacturing. Unlike traditional thermal-based metal printing, Fabric8Labs’ patented ECAM technology builds complex metal parts at the atomic level at room temperature. This proprietary process delivers unparalleled resolution, surface finish, and purity without the thermal stresses or post-processing requirements of legacy methods.

Why We Invested

This funding will support the expansion of Fabric8Labs’ U.S. manufacturing footprint, boosting capacity from 5 million to 22 million components annually. We are excited to support their mission to mass-produce critical components for high-growth sectors, including:

  • AI & High-Performance Computing: Advanced thermal management solutions (cooling) for data centers.
  • Wireless Communications (RF): High-efficiency antennas and components for satellite and mobile networks.
  • Power Electronics: Next-generation components for electrification and EVs.

TOPPAN is excited to leverage its century-long expertise in printing and micro-fabrication to support this emergent field. There is immense potential to unlock further value by combining TOPPAN’s leadership in electronics and optical materials with Fabric8Labs’ ability to print high-performance metal parts at industrial scale.

We look forward to partnering with the Fabric8Labs team as they move seamlessly from prototyping to high-volume production.
